A New Spring at TANIYA

It has been some time since we last shared news here, but we hope to gradually begin posting again and sharing more about TANIYA and the town of Takayama.

This spring marks the fourth year since TANIYA first opened its doors.

TANIYA is a small inn that welcomes only one group of guests each day. Because of this, we cherish every encounter and strive to welcome each guest with genuine care. The feelings we had when we first opened—wanting to host each guest wholeheartedly and share the spirit of this place—have only grown stronger with each passing year.

Takayama is a town where traditional culture quietly lives on, surrounded by the beauty of mountains and nature. We hope that the time you spend here will allow you to experience both the culture of the town and the gentle rhythm of life in this region.

Above all, the many wonderful guests we have had the privilege of welcoming over the years have been our greatest joy and encouragement.

Together with the neighboring Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, we look forward to helping create a memorable stay in Takayama for all who visit.
