As the first signs of spring quietly emerge,
the hina dolls of the Kusakabe family come into view.
Passed down through generations,
from the Edo period into Meiji,
each figure carries within it prayers and memories.
Every year, from March 3 to April 3,
in accordance with the traditional lunar calendar,
they are displayed at the main house — the Kusakabe Folk Craft Museum.
Numbering nearly 200 in total,
the layered arrangement of dolls feels like time itself,
gathered and held within this house.
Human wishes, given form, and passed on.
This quiet continuity still lives on here.
For those staying at TANIYA during this season,
we warmly invite you to experience
this cherished spring tradition.
